Is My Mouth Infected?!

Question: Every morning, I wake up with my mouth stuck close. I open it and it's as if my saliva dried and it reeks. I go to the sink, rinse my mouth, and then wait a little while before brushing my teeth. I also been noticing that I get tired of talking more often, and I'm constantly thirsty. I am not in any medication. Is it because the season is changing? I am allergic to pollen, dust, and grass. Usually I start sneezing around this time. But I don't know if it has to do wiht anything. My father told me it's because I drink very cold stuff. But I don't know. Even if I keep my mouth closed for a little while, my saliva dries and my lips get stuck. Help anyone?

You appear to be suffering from xerostomia which is Latin for dry mouth. There are many reasons for this.
Medications - including allergy medications
systemic problems such as diabetes - also gives thirst, hunger and polyuria - excessive urination also tiredness
mouth breathing while you sleep
dehydration is unlikely

it is important to get the xerostomia corrected because it is associated with a very high decay rate. The saliva tends to neutralize the acid made by the bacteria. When there is little or no saliva, the bacteria produce lots of acid and the teeth decay.

drinking cold drinks will not cause the problem
Do go to the doctor, let him know your symptoms and let him run some tests. If it is diabetes, it is important to get it corrected without delay. Whatever it is, you need to get the underlying cause diagnosed and corrected.

Best of luck

obviously dehydration...but i had similar symptoms and ended up being diagnosed with diabetes...go to a dr and get checked out.

I have bad allergies and never had that happen to me. I never heard of that. You better go to the doctor.

I wouldn't fool around with this. It could be a number of things including diabetes, dry mouth, allergies, or some other problem. This needs to be corrected. You need that saliva in your mouth even for the health of your teeth.
