Root canal?
im havin root canal treatment/sugry tomorrow! abnd really really scared! has any one had it befor? does it hurt whilst havin it done or afterwards! as i have to go 2 work after! thnx

first off, an endodontist is the specialist, not a periodontist. General dentist do plenty of root canals too. I do a ton every year. Your dentist should be able to anesthetize the area sufficiently enough to prevent pain during the procedure. You can take Advil or Motrin before and after. If there is no infection presently it will be easier to numb. Tooth will be sore afterwards, be sure to chew on the other side, and make sure the DDS reduces the tooth to take it out of occlusion (bite). Get a crown in a few weeks.
