My daughter lost her two front teeth when she was two years old, she is now 7 ye!

Question:

My daughter lost her two front teeth when she was two years old, she is now 7 years old and still waiting?

when should I be concerned? will the dentist have to cut her gums for them to surface?

Answers:

I would expect that she is probably in the clear and will not need dental treatment as a result. The teeth will come through when they are ready and in some children teeth will erupt later than other children. If you are concerned you can have the dentist or hygienist palpate (feel) for them and take an x-ray if they feel it is necessary. This link I am sending will show you the approximate time frame of when to see teeth erupting into a childs mouth - http://www.ada.org/public/topics/tooth_e...
Hope that helps!
