What is the incisal reduction on a all porcelain crown?!

Question:

What is the incisal reduction on a all porcelain crown?

Answers:

It means (in plain english) that there is a crown (also called a cap) made out of porcelain on a front tooth in your mouth. Incisal reduction means that the dentist is going to make it shorter or "reduce" it to make your teeth bite together better. This should not be uncomfortable and is a quick procedure. If you had a natural front tooth and chipped the edge of it the Dr. would do the same procedure - just smooth it down. Hope that helps!
