college course needed to apply to dental school about 90 hrs. which include your science(bio, chem, organic chem, biochemistry) english, history,etc. Not all dental school require the same class.
But just look at it this way. College about 4yrs for your BS. Dental School 4 yrs for your DDS/DMD. and then 2-3 yrs for Orthodontic. Ortho is a tough field since they only take the top 5-10% of your dental class. So you pretty much need to get all A's in dental school.
first of all love you will need a primary dental qualification and graduate as a dentist then further this to become an orthodontist
