Canker Sores can they be more?!

Question:

Canker Sores can they be more?

OK here is the deal I have had tons of canker sores in my life no big deal they go away on their own. But now I have a sore on the inside of my gums back where my wisdom teeth were they have been gone for a few years and the gums in that area are swollen and I have what looks like a small cut with a canker sore over it but it like a line or scratch not round. Can a canker sore cause the gums to swell, my left gland in under my throat is swollen and it hurts like hell to eat or drink most of the time? Is this just a canker sore or is it something else?

P.S.
I don't wear braces or dentures, don't chew tobacco or drink alcohol in excess people have asked me this already as possible causes.
