The state will depending on where you live. If you have a dental insurance such as Unison, Gateway or Doral. I am a dental hygienist, living in PA, and I know for a fact that Unison pays for orthodontic, but there are certain criteria that needs to be met.
I also know there are only certain orthodontists in my area that accept that type of insurance.
Do some research in your state as to what type of insurance there is out there for low income families.
