How long until pain goes away after wisdom tooth surgery?!

Question:

How long until pain goes away after wisdom tooth surgery?

So, I am a healthy 24 year old female and I just had all four of my wisdom teeth removed. It's been six days and the pain and swelling seem to be better than before but I am still having pain in my lower right side. Usually Ibuprofen 800mg is good enough to take care of it but when the IBU wears off I have an annoying, achey, somewhat throbbing pain that vaguely spreads from my jaw line to my face. The radiating pain is very minimal but I'm just wondering if this is normal. Oh yeah, and when am I going to stop having pain at all? Anything helps!

Answers:

I had the same surgery when I was 17 the pain lasted about a week, the next week I was back to normal , but my jaw ached painfully for about a month. I am 22 now and I still feel a little bit of pressure in my lower jaw every morning. You have to remember that your mouth had been pryed open by medal for a couple of hours so you may feel the pressure of the muscle in the jawline for a while after. Good luck and Get Better!
