Thooth crown and infection need advise asap have appt today?

ok so i had a root canal done in one of my front thooth not a molar this cause a major infection i mean its huge and it cause a lot of pain not even vicodin worked its been over a month and my theeth is ok it still huts but i can still feel the pain a little once in a while but i will have my crown placed today this will be in the front upper thooth my question is
1. should i still have the crown put on with infection?
2. will it hurt after the anesthesia wears down?
3. do i need a crown for the front upper thooth..
i still have a followup for my root canal in 2 more months to see if the infection has cleared

This is for a front upper thooth not a molar.

Are you on antibiotics? Well, I wouldn't do anything until the infection heals. You can get the tooth prepared for a crown and have the temporary crown placed, but I'd wait to get the permanent one cemented until things calm down.

But, yes you need a crown on that tooth because it's dead now. There is no blood going through it to keep it vital and strong. After a root canal teeth become weak. Just be very careful until you get the crown. Try to cut food instead of ripping/biting it. No opening beer bottles with your teeth!! :)
