Why are these teeth loose? Have you had an accident, is it rampant decay, perio disease??? All teeth have some mobility to them, a slight movement is normal. Teeth aren't fused to the bone, they are held by periodontal ligaments that act as a cushion, allowing the teeth to move during chewing and biting. Give a little more information to this problem unless I've covered it already.

Additional information: It really depends on what your dentist found on the x rays.

If a fracture was noticed, the teeth or tooth will have to be extracted. There isn't any way to repair a fractured root of a tooth.

If they are just loose, he may want to splint these teeth from cuspid to cuspid to give them additional support while they heal.

There is also the possibility of the nerves not being able to heal from the trauma, causing them to die and needing root canal therapy in order to save the teeth. Then after that, they would need crowns to give them the added support and for natural shade. Root canals tend to make teeth darker since there is no blood supply going to the tooth giving it nutrients keeping it alive and healthy, so a full coverage crown will eliminate the shade problem and also give added strength.

The splinting isn't expensive and is necessary unless they are fractured. So if he is suggesting they be removed due to fracture, then you will need to replace them with a fixed bridge, implants or a removable partial. There are several options, all with different prices. I'm sure you will have the opportunity to discuss all of these with your dentist prior to having the procedures done.

Sorry this has happened, but at least you do have choices to repair or replace these teeth. Hope I've been of some help and good luck with your pending procedures.
