What was your the cost of your braces? So I can compare,?!

Question: What was the cost of your braces? Please include anything I need to know such as (eg. overbite, gaps), what year, and if you payed in full or monthly payments and if you had insurance or not.

Cost of braces?
Anything I need to know about your specific condition?
Year?
Full or monthly payments?
Insurance?

Thanks

I'm currently paying in tri-monthly installments.
It's costing me $6630 for the braces and an extra $750 for having ceramic brackets on top.

I have no insurance, but in Australia we can claim any medical fees of more than $1500 off our tax. (Which is awesome, because I'm a student.)

But as someone else said, you should definitely not consider the cost - I mean, if you're putting yourself out there to have stuff done to your teeth then you're going to want the person doing the work to be the best you can get, regardless of the cost. There are so many different things that can go wrong if you end up with a dodgy orthodontist - get recommendations from friends or a doctor or a dentist - generally, the more professional and hygienic an orthodontist is the better the result for you. This of course will come with its own price but it's definitely worth it.

It is not at all about costs...............your dentist must be hygenic and honest............the mouth can be the gateway to many diseaseses..........shop well for the correct doctor first

i havent had braces but i know lots of people who have. theyre usually $4000-$5000, most pay by the month. it would cost more if your condition is worse, as the braces, monthly check ups and wearing a retainer would be over a longer period. of course it would be cheaper with private health insurance cos you can deduct part of the cost as there is an amount allowed in the insurance policy. hope that helps!
