If you go into a dental hygiene program directly from high school you will still likely complete the program in 2 years which is the typical time taken to get an associates degree. From what I hear some colleges are now going to 3 year dental hygiene programs due to the fact that so much material is being squeezed into 2 years. If you are aiming to get a bachelor's of dental hygiene which will allow you to teach, do sales, or work in management you will probably be looking at 4 years. Some colleges may offer a more intensive program where you are taking summer classes in order to shorten the amount of time. Hope that helps!
