I.m really scared about dry socket!!!?

i am doing what i was told to do (after 4 wisdom teeth removal) but after reading about it on here im petrified!!! will the fact that i have stitches and that i am already on metronidazole for a different reason help????

i've heard that you shouldnt use straws but the nurse gave me a drink with a straw in the hospital?? then i read that this wasnt even a proven cause of dry socket??

If you are following the instructions that the surgeon gave you (not smoking using a straw or rinsing vigerously or doing strenuous exercise for 24 hours) and have stitches to keep the wound sites closed you are probably going to be just fine! I don't know that the medication you are on will be of any benefit. But...
Make sure that you are keeping the rest of your mouth clean (avoid cleaning the tooth just next to the socket) with a soft toothbrush and tongue brushing to help eliminate the bad breath or unpleasant taste that is common after an extraction.
