Masturbation is pleasing yourself by doing rubbing, fingering, etc to yourself. I don't do this, and no, not often, women usually use a toy, or substitute when they do it by themselves. The effect is a pleasure from the act, but hopefully it is not for a long term, or something they enjoy doing, but more as a substitute from when the man is away for long periods of time or something.
Men have a rougher time with this than women do. Men are more sexuall by nature and masturbate more frequently than women do. Men also act out on their sexuall needs and commit more sexual crimes, also.
I never criticise my husband for doing this, in fact I help him with it when the cycles let me. I will rub it for him, or do other acts.......hopefully you are mature enough to understand this, but I would like being there when he needs stimulation.....
