Question: I'm getting my braces tightened on April 4th.... so does it hurt when they tighten them??? what colors should i get??? (i currently have blue and light green)

take advil before you get them tightened. It hurts kinda bad. get black, it matches with everything
It hurts a lot and is sore for the first day.
you should get purple and red for spring-ish flower colors
or navy blue. that is always nice.
It doesn't hurt, but it is extremely uncomfortable and your teeth wil be sensitive for a couple of days after...
hurts for a few days afterwards. not right when they do it though. get pink and purple!

yeah, they'll be sore for 2-3 days so just eat some soup and applesauce. Get light blue bands if you don't want the braces to be as noticeable. When I had them I would get all sorts of crazy colors each time I'd go in.
My friend has braces and she says you can't even feel it. (well hardly). She has them only on the top teeth. She says that if you have it on both top and bottom, it hurts. I don't want to scare you if that's the case, but you asked. I'm only trying to help.

don't get orange or yellow, it makes it look like you never brush your teeth

worse pain i've ever been in, i couldnt sleep bc it was so painful.
just make sure you have a lot of soft foods like mash potateos, macoronni, soup etc...
get blue and black bands, those look cool.
Makes your teeth sore and sensitive sometimes, you might be better off with a liquid diet of malts and soft foods like bananas for a day or two afterwards.
im sorry to say it hurts like hell!! the pain goes right thru your skull.

You should do the watermelon colors. It hurts some. It isn't horrable. It doesn't hurt as bad as getting them on. If you take some advil before, it wont be unbearable!!!

lol it always hurt me for like a week but everyone else it never affected -.- lol i think you should get like pink and purple
omg, the first time it hurts really badly. (well, it did for me) it is not fun. dont get dark green, yellow, or white. they all look bad. good luck with the braces and prepare your self!!!!!
It usually doesn't hurt to get them tightened, but when you get them on it hurts a lot. Depending on how much damage you've done to you're teeth, it may hurt. I don't like getting teeth pulled, but nothing else hurts... so far. I've only had them for 3 months. I have braces right now, and I have light pink on top and light green on bottom. I think those colors are cool, or orange and pink :-). Hope I helped
It doesn't hurt...Just like an hour after your teeth feel sore..and its kinda hard to eat..thats what my sister told me i never had braces so i dont know exactly but maybe u should go with red and pink lol

it does ache when they are tightened, i would be lying if i said it didnt!!
i would advise taking a pain killer before you go in to help with it, nurofen worked best for me!!!
as for colours, it depends on ure style, i went for pinks and purples, but i think its best to just see how you feel on the day

It will be sore a little bit and they will probably use a thicker/heavier wire when they tighten your braces.
Cold, ice water and ibuprofen really helps.
Since it's spring why not some springy- colors? Like light pink and violet (yellow doesn't look good on braces).
Well I'm 13 and I've had my braces tightened three times so far. I can tell you that it doesn't hurt right after the adjustment but it'll start to hurt later. I recommend taking an Advil or Ibuprofen when you get home to prevent the pain. After that, it'll hurt for about 2 - 3 days and then it'll be normal. Continue to take Advil when it hurts. It should kick in in 30 - 45 minutes. Eating soft foods like bananas, apple sauce, pudding, yogurt, and soup help a lot too. I don't recommed ice cream because it makes your braces contract. That makes it hurt like heck. >_>
As for the color, anything that just spells out springtime!

Hmm you can get colors! Why didn't my dentist tell me that! It dosen't really hurt at all, unless you are a person who can't stand any pain at all and you mouth is sore for a week or so. then it is back to normal by the 12th or 13th your mouth should be back to normal
it so dose not i actally liked it when i had mine and i think you should get lime green and light blue
Dana, i never got braces so i don't know if they hurt or not..But i do agree with the colors you told me at school..i like the red, pink blue..or even the color braces Shannon has on..Yellow..i think the yellow looks nice, but i'll go with pink and blue..or Red and blue..
