Could this be a cavity?!

Question:

Could this be a cavity?

My left canine feels kind of weird. I noticed it today as I was driving home munching on some fries.

It doesn't exactly HURT it just feels really weird. And its not my whole tooth, its like the very tip of the tooth that feels weird if something touches it like if I bite into a burger or something or if I scrape it with my fingernail like i've been doing all day seeing if it was temporary.

I don't eat any sweets whatsover and I brush daily (i don't floss though) but I've never had a cavity so I don't know. I can't go to the dentist yet but I'm just wondering if anyone knows if this could be a cavity or something.

Like I said, its not a consistent pain, its only if something touches the very tip of the tooth. When I drink nothing happens, if I touch any other part of the tooth nothing happens, but if something touches that specific part it feels weird. Sort of like a stinging sensation except not really painful, just really weird or annoying. I've had it before I THINK.

First of all, drinking Ice Water would do nothing for me since I've had sensitive teeth since I was a little kid. So I won't be able to tell the differences, besides I've been drinking cold stuff all day today and it does nothing out of the ordinary.

Secondly. By the tip, I mean the bottom tip. As in, the tip that would touch the food that it bites into. It has nothing to do with my gums right now. If this was my tooth -->V<-- Then its the very tip that feels weird.

Also I hate flossing i just feel as if I'm gonna cut my gums or some **** I have sensitive gums.

Hello,

It could be that you have bruised the periodontal ligament. This can happen, by biting into something like a cheeseburger and you bite onto a piece of bone or gristle that you weren't expecting, it is usually only on one tooth when that happens, so it is that tooth that took the force of the bite instead of all the teeth touching together.
When this happens it can bruise the ligament.
I would suggest a soft diet for the next couple of days. If no improvement I would visit a dentist.
Also if it was cracked it would hurt when you bite everytime, but relief as you open, it would be sensitive to cold and hot.
Good Luck!
