Shattered front tooth!?!

Question: So, I was playing ultimate frisbee wih my friends, and I got hit in the mouth with the frisbee really hard. My right front tooth got shattered. Not just broken, shattered. Because we were playing in the park, I doubt I was able to grab all the pieces. I did grab a couple though. My left front tooth is also loose. It is still in the socket but it it loose.

Because this happened after 7, all the dentist offices were closed. I have to wait until tomorrow morning to get treatment.

Is there anything I can do now? What kind of treatment will I end up getting? How long will it take to heal? Will there be any permanent effects?

Thanks.

If some of your tooth is still in tact, you will probably need a permanant bond. There is alot that your dentist can do. I shattered my two front teeth years ago. They still require "work" every 8-10 years, but they look fine, very real. I doubt that they will be able to use the pieces.

Your left tooth might tighten up. If there is swellling around it, it can feel loose. When the swelling goes away, it might be normal again.

Hope you have dental insurance. It can get pricey!

ouch prolly need a crown

Hi. I was in a baseball accident and broke off my 3 front teeth.. I tried caps, and fake teeth, but they kept falling out.. yeah gross I know.. so i had to get root canals on all 3 and crowns for all of them. it was pricy, about $8000 bucks worth.
let me know if you don't have great dental insurance.. I hope the one that's loose, once it's had a few weeks to get over the trauma does tighten back up! pray that happens!
You can get great dental coverage before you even go in.. for only $11.95 for singles, or $19.95 for family coverage.. I got it and they give you 50-80% off all dental related issues.. even pre-existing conditions..

check out this website.. and see what you think.. if you need more help or want to ask me about the recovery process.. just click on the "contact" link and it gives my telephone number..
