What is some information on becoming a dentist?!

Question:

What is some information on becoming a dentist?

Answers:

1) Four year degree w/ 2 semesters of gen chem, org chem, physics, 4-8 semesters life science, etc...the prerecs are the same at most places.
2) GPA...depends. I sat for the admissions board while I was a dental student. Things are becoming more competetive with each passing year. The average entering GPA this year was a 3.6. I would urge you to apply in state, if possible. This makes things much easier.
3) DAT scores 17-18, at the lowest. It's okay to have a low section, just make sure it isn't the PAT, and that the average is 17-18.
4) Don't act like an *** during the interview. This is when people who appear like quality candidates crash and burn. Dress nice(buy a nice suit or business outfit)
Don't bring in anything other than yourself. Sometimes candidates will bring in examples of their work. To me it comes off as obsessive.

Good luck
