which is better? im thinking about changing from dhmo to ppo? wont ppo cover more??
Answers:
It depends on what you need.
DHMO is a managed care option. Your out-of-pocket may be less, but you will be limited to what procedures you may obtain and where you may go for service. Many people are not happy with the limited choices under managed care.
PPO means more providers will be available, and the participating provider agrees to accept a scheduled fee for their services. PPO patients may pay less for services than other patients.
Before deciding which plan you want, get a list of providers in your area. Make sure to find out if locations are convenient for you, or if your current dentist is on the list.
You will probably pay a little more for the PPO plan, but in the long run, you will receive a wider range of services.
