I had a filling done on Thursday and the same thing happened, in fact it went right up to my temple as well. It wore off in about 3 hours, but you can speed that up by using a hot water bottle or wheat pack (don't know why heat works, but it does).

I know it sounds odd but I quite like the feeling, it tickles as it starts to wear off, and being a naturally stressed out person, it forces me to relax :) It's perfectly normal, and just the result of whatever it is they use to numb the area.

As for the taste - I think it's just your taste buds starting to wake up - drink plenty of water and be careful not to accidentally bite your tongue :)

It could be from the Novacaine they used to numb your mouth. It will probably wear off in a few hours.

ok first they dont use novacaine anymore...
and second of all, its sounds like you had a filling on the top of your mouth and there are a ton of nerves up there. they probably just gave you a little too much, it will wear off, the reason you are tasting funny is that your mouth is waking up. if you are still numb tomorrow call the dentist. and next visit, tell them what happened and they will use less.

more then likely just how the effects of the Novocaine took. i wouldn't worry about it unless it continues tomorrow.
