Tooth pain?

my mom just went to the dentist and they she had a tooth infection and they gave her some penicilln to take for the pain but it does not seem to help and her mouth is very sowlen is there any thing that could help her with the pain.

motrin or ibuprofen. swelling is causing the pain when it reduces pain will stop,
