Do you get to choose between a clear retainer and a metal one?!
Question: I know some people who have clear ones and some who have the metal ones that show in the front. Ofcourse, I'd like the clear one, but can you choose? I've only had my braces on for about a year and a half. I'm getting them off this june. My sister had the one that shows in the front, but she had her braces on for 4 years. help!

The orthodontist decides what's best for you. You can ask to see if they have them available, but your teeth make the actual decision. My brother and I went to the same orthodontist. I had to have a metal retainer because my teeth had been difficult to realign and I required 3 years with braces, but my brother's teeth were more cooperative so he was able to have the Invisalign braces and clear retainer.
No, I don't think so. It's whatever your orthodontist gives you. But most offices have been switching to the clear ones, so chances are that is what you will have. Hopefully I am getting my braces off this summer! Good Luck!
