When your chewing gum, it can slip and then you bite right where it had slipped soo... I always do bite my tounge, especily when I eat food.

your not paying attention and it just happens.Just like when you swallow your gum but not purposely.
or maybe you were to distracted talking or doing other things , i guess it just happens naturally.

Well, I think the answer is obvious, but since you don't think so--let me explain. When you are chewing a piece of gum, your mouth takes on a rythmic, almost invloluntary motion. Your gum shys away from its original location, and you bite your tongue instead. Hope this helps;)

You're chewing too big a wad of gum or you're chewing with your mouth open and talking at the same time and getting distracted. Try a smaller piece of gum and not chewing so vigorously -- you'll probably be less annoying to people around you if you do. (Snap, pop, snap!) :)

Well now I read all the answers you have already gotten and they pretty much covered all the bases..."Except" for one...Somehow I seriously doubt you fit this category, "BUT", if you happen to wear a dental appliance such as a denture or partial denture the biting issue could very likely be an issue with tooth balance and alignment. Artificial denture teeth that are not properly balanced and aligned can very easily cause both lip and cheek biting. OK that's my little bit of FYI so have a great day and know I wish you well.
