Trismus after removal of wisdom teeth?
HOw long is trismus normal or can be expected for after the removal of wisdom teeth? Personal experiences are welcomed, please, thanks :)

I get a bit of trismus after every dental visit, and my dentist (who I work for) always recommends taking OTC anti-inflammatories, switching to a soft diet, keep limited opening of your mouth, and to use a warm moist compress on the joint area. If I do this then I can usually get rid of the discomfort after 2 days. The warm, moist compress seems to help me the most. I like to wet a washcloth then place it in the microwave for a few, then I usually lay down with it on the side that hurts. If it doesn't go away you should definitely consult the dentist who did the surgery.
