Question about getting braces?!

Question: I have had these 3 gaps in my upper set of teeth since I was probably 4! I am in the teen group and I have lost all my baby teeth. I also have an overbite. Are gaps really all that bad to have in your teeth? Do you think I will have to get braces? I am going to a dentist next month but I wanted your opinion first! Do you think the gap will EVER grow back together?

Sometimes gaps can grow together. When your wisdom teeth come in it is very possible for it to push on those teeth with gaps and they will become closer.I have a few teeth on the top that have gaps and it is a result from certain teeth never coming in.I have braces on and I can see that when I get the braces off, those teeth will be a lot closer together. The gap doesn't really bother me, though. As for your overbite, I've got one as well.Braces will definitely help with that.I have only had braces since February 13th (of this year) and my overbite is becoming straight.Gaps aren't bad in your teeth, although, if the gaps are decreasing your self-esteem then it may be a good idea to get the braces. If you get braces to fix the overbite and gaps, in the end you'll have a beautiful smile.

I have a gap in my two front teethe and I think it gives you character

your probably going to need braces unless you wanna keep the big spaces cause i really dont think there gonna grow back together

Most likely the gap will not grow back together. If you're fine with having the gap, and it isn't getting worse, then you don't need braces. In some cases, the gap grows larger. I had a gap and my teeth just kept moving further apart, so I needed braces.

More than likely the gap is not just going to correct itself. If it does, then I would like to see you explain that one to an orthodontist. You are going to need braces if you want it corrected.

As a 22 year old female who in the last year opted to go into ortho treatment, it is best to get it done sooner than later. I had an overbite and crooked teeth that I thought would never bother me, but now that I am graduating from college and looking back at all of my senior pictures and ones from when I was younger, I wish that I would have undergone treatment at an earlier age.

So even though it doesnt bother you now, it may later on when you're looking at old pictures or have to work in an office or go to school with people who all have perfect teeth. Not to mention the health benefits. I see alot of older people who have teeth that have worn unevenly or all the way down due to misaligned teeth.
