What can I do boyfriends string, white, thick, filmy slimy saliva?

My boyfriend of 2 months has very thick slimy saliva. When he talks it is white and very string and it always ends up collecting in the corners of his mouth. Kissing is a major issue since my lips feel sticky and filmy afterwards. He definetly has bad teeth. His mouth is full of metal fillings and his teeth look very stained and filmy. He tries, but the dentist says he just has very weak enamel. He's been spending alot of time at the dentist (root canal, replacing fillings, and cleanings) but the dentist hasn't said anything about this problem. From the research I've done it sounds like dry mouth, but he drinks a ton of water. definetly more than 8 glasses. He's never had Chemo either. He's the best guy in the world and I can't avoid kissing him for much longer but it grosses me out!!! ANY SUGGESTIONS???

I realize it may seem "immature" - but I love this man - I just want to to be able to kiss him without having a sticky film on my mouth. If there is no answer I'll learn to get past it, but why wouldn't I try to find a solution???

I have the same problem. My dentist suggested Biotene. It's designed for dry mouth. I use the mouthwash but they also have a toothpaste. Both are very gentle. There is no "burn" with the mouthwash. I did notice a difference. Have him use it 2-3 times a day but def before bedtime. And if he hasn't already, use a tongue scraper. Get all the gunk out of the tongue. Brush tongue, roof of mouth, cheeks, lips. Rinse after meals helps too. Or check the drugstore aisle or ask the dentist which one they prefer. Good luck!
