when you first get them they hurt a bit maybe for about 2-3 days or so, then you'll get used to them. When you get them tightened they just hurt for a day or so, you could take a pain killer to releive the pain or use the "wax" the orthodontist gives you. But it's a minor pain and once you get used to it , it wont hurt so much. Hope i helped =]

not really. the only time it really hurts is when they have to tighten them every so often. and when they have to cut extra long pieces of the wire off. i had them for 6 years. i know. it's kinda cool to have them though. you get to pick all sorts of cool colors for the bands.
yes. They hurt when you get them tightened because they are moving. But that is about all. It is only for like 2 days if that, and I just got mine off, and my teeth are gorgeous. Beauty hurts, but with braces, it does not hurt much.
it's not like pain-hurt. it's just really sore and sensitive.
btw, wear the wax! my bottom lip is all cut up from the braces and hurts like heck.
Yes. When they tighten them and for a few days afterwards if I remember correctly. Painkillers are indeed your friend at this time but as your teeth move or you get used to it, the pain decreases. Like any other pain, you learn to deal. And, like other pain, your memory of it will pass as well. Hopefully, you'll feel like it was all worth it in the end.
yea it hurts but no.it hurts just as bad as it did the day you got 'em on.no more than that.and it last about a day less, too.i suggest after getting them tightened you eat soup and stuff.BUT, the 1st thing you should have when you leave the orthodontist is a milkshake.don't make the crazy mistake i did and try to drink it through a straw.just get a plastic spoon and eat the milkshake.Also, make sure that is the only thing you consume for 3 hours.If you only eat that in a 3 hour span your teeth will hurt less.hope i helped.
i had them for two years, and they hurt reaaaaly bad at first. i remember one night when they got tightened for the first time, and i had a pounding headache and couldn't sleep! ow, it hurt. after that, it didn't hurt as much, and i just knew that i would be a bit cranky when they got tightened b/c it doesn't feel so good.
