Weird 'toothache'.. don't really know what it is.?!

Question:

Weird 'toothache'.. don't really know what it is.?

It's been bothering me since yesterday afternoon. Not all the time, but when I shake my head or tilt my head backwards, one of my top left molars hurts. It's not even really painful though.. it's like a cold feeling.

I think it's either a cavity, or some nerve thing. But I have pretty good oral hygiene. So.. anyone willing to help?

Answers:

If it involves your teeth, it may be a mobility issue. Mobility is when your tooth loses attachment slightly and becomes a little loose. This is why it feels unusual when you shake your head. This is rather common and can be alleviated. Attachment can occur as long as the tooth remains in its socket/ remains in its proper place. Depending on the level of mobility, it may heal on its own, or you may need to see a dentist to create a simple splint that will hold it in place until it heals. This attachment will probably return to normal shortly and will not affect your day-to-day activities. If the "pain" does not disappear in a couple days I would recommend having a dentist look at it.

I doubt it is a cavity as cavities are associated with identifiable pains...and not hard to describe. Same with nerves. If it involves your nerves....you will know. :)
