Why are my gums tearing when I eat?!

Question:

Why are my gums tearing when I eat?

Every couple of months, my gums tear off from the gum line and sort of fold over a bit after eating. The layer of the gum that peals off from the gum line turns white and underneath it is a darker red then the rest of my gums. I have just got it on my bottom gums between the 2nd and 3rd molars on both the left and right side. I do not brush my teeth as regularly as I should, sometimes missing a few days. Is this some sort of gum disease? The parts where it tears are tender sort of white areas. It doesn;t hurt and usually just goes away.

Answers:

Sounds like you may have gum disease. Seek a dentist asap.
