I have a bump on my tongue. What is it?!

Question: I have a bump on my tongue and it hurts really bad to the touch.
My Mom and Dad use to tell me they were Liar Bumps. Please help and also what causes them, what can make them go away, and what can prevent them from coming back. It is not a canker sour. I have already check that out. Thanks

DId you bite you tongue? The other thing it could be is a swollen taste bud - if you eat a lot of citric stuff or spicy or even if something was too hot - then it can cause your taste bud to become swollen - I get them all the time and that's what my doctor told me it was.

is it red or white??

If it's a tiny little white dot on your tongue, it will probably go away in two or three days. I get them from eating too much salt. Ice might help a little.

an olser (sp?) maybe. I get them in my mouth sometimes.

It is simple. You have a destrapostral sist. In other word you bit your tounge or burned it. Great Question! Just wait a little while. The'll go away, and drink fluids.
