When you have a molar extracted, how long must the blood clot stay in tact?!

Question: Mine seems to be dissolving. It's been 5 days since I got my tooth pulled. I'm worried that it hasn't been there long enough because there's still a large hole there. I realllllly don't want dry socket! I can't find this info anywhere, so if you can speak from personal experience or knowledge, it'd be greatly appreciated.

I'm on antibiotics, and I do warm salt rinses every few hours... It's only been 5 days so I'm wondering if it should be this gone.. I know the whole thing takes months to heal but, the actual blood clot. I don't want it gone before it's actual time is up.

Also, I didn't get stitches because I had an infection previous to the extraction. It's the 3rd molar by the way. My dentist wanted it to finish draining the infection. It was my old root canal tooth, it came out in bloody pieces... that was horrible. So yea, that just about sums it up!

everything is normal. everybodys healing time can be different because of the individual circumstances. the large hole will be there for quite a while til the bone fills in. you would have had a dry socket by now. so everything seems fine. :)
