Scared about wisdom teeth need help guys!?
okay so im gonna be 27 next week and have never had my wisdom teeth out. they have been growing in but no pain. i want to know if its okay to leave them growing or do i have to have surgery? im really scared because of all the stories and i have a mitral valve prolapse. anyway if theres anyone out there who was able to keep their wisdom teeth let me know your story. or if you had them out was it painful afterwards?

Well I am 48 and still have my wisdom teeth. They generally only remove them if there is a problem such as impaction or overcrowding. With mitral valve prolapse you need to be premedicated with antibiotics for any dental procedure. There is going to be some discomfort after if you do have them out, but that is normal. My son had all four done at once and on the third day he was eating king crab legs!! He took some ibuprofen or tylenol when he was uncomfortable. You are also sedated and will not feel anything during the procedure. Everyone has a different threshold of pain so it is difficult to say how you will feel.
