Please answer?!?!?!
Question: okay so i am supposed to get 4 fillings tomorrow at 1 pm. two on the bottom on both sides of my mouth
and two on the top on both sides of my mouth
first off how bad is the pain?
second: how long will i be numb for because i am suppose to go to a movie with friends around like 7pm

OK..to begin with, not all filings require you to be injected with a numbing medication. Shallow cavities can easily be filled without your having a numbing injection. Also it's not common practice to numb the entire mouth at one setting by injection. In some cases that could pose a swallowing and even breathing issue. However, total anesthetic, (putting you to sleep) would be a different issue as swallowing or breathing wouldn't be an issue under that scenario. In either case your movie schedule should be right on time. Good luck and I wish you well.
Most of the pain is in the novacaine if that's what the doctor opts for, but it's so quick that you'll hardly feel a pinch and it's numb.
The problem is, it can stay numb for a day or two. Hopefully, most of your drooling will have gone down by seven. :P I'd keep a napkin handy.
The pain is basically non existant. My dentist distracted me by shaking my cheek when he was giving my the pain medicine injection and i didn't even feel the needle. The numbness wears off within a couple of hours. Don't worry at all!
The Novicaine or whatever they use wears off in a few hrs...not DAYS.....as for going out that night....you may want to consider staying in.
the pain isn't so bad. i couldnt even feel it when i was getting my fillings done. u cant really tell wat thy're doing cuz ur numb
the novicane mostly wears off in a couple hours. but somtimes it could go on for about 2-3 days. when i go my novicane done, it wore off in about 2 hours. so it wasnt that bad. good luck.
oh the numbness will be gone and it doesn't hurt but you'll be there probably for an hour ....
Is highly unlikely the Dr will numb both sides of the lower at the same time, I would only do that in an emergency situation. Patient may bite the tongue & get infection!! Doc W
