Serious dental problems- but im pregnant with my 3rd child?!

Question: i have a tooth in my mouth that has chipped off. I was eating dinner one night (nothing crunchy- mashed potatoes) anyways- i bit down and there were the ungodly hard things- turns out they were pieces of my tooth! So now i pretty much have a hole in a "V" shape on one of the sides and underneath of my tooth. Im pregnant- so cant do much i guess. What will they do for it anyways? Also- have severe pains in it when i eat hot or cold food or sometimes at night- just because. Nothing helps but 800mg ibprofine. But now i notice im getting the pains on same tooth on the other side of my mouth- but so far havent had the tooth actually crack!? Is this a sign it will crack too? What is causing this? Any ideas? Because im pregnant- i think i will have to wait until after the baby comes before i can get any of these things fixed!

Our doctor really doesn't like to do anything on a pregnant woman if there isn't a problem. But if you are in pain we like to wait til your 2nd trimester. You need to talk to your ob and see what they recommend for pain and antibiotics in case you need them. Ask them to fax that over to your dentist office so they have consent on what medications to give you. Good luck

Hmm..
Have you told your dentist this? All the sensitivity could be coming from a possible cavity, or just sensitive teeth. You could use some kind of mouthwash or toothpaste to prevent them or at least make them less sensitive (but check the ingridients or ask the dentist if it will hurt the baby of course). With the crack.. all I know is going to the dentist for it. They'll cap it off (I think).

Good luck with the baby!(And the teeth) Hope you feel better!
