Braces and Tea?!

Question: I know that you're not allowed black teas, like regular iced tea/hot tea. But I'm a huge fan of green teas...Can that stain your bands? I have clear braces and I've researched all the food/drinks that will stain your bands - but nothing specifies which type of tea. Does anyone have experience with this?

Prolonged drinking of "black" tea can cause staining. I, myself, have clear braces; so I can definitely relate to it. I drink a lot of coffee too, so that stains the clear bands as well. One thing you can definitely do is brush/rinse right after you drink tea or eat anything that can stain (i.e curry). Luckily, when you go to visit your Ortho. monthly, you can get the bands replaced. So you really don't have that same stained band for the whole time.

Enjoy your tea and don't worry about it getting stained! It won't turn black or nasty like you think it would.

i know tea can stain ur teeth but the dentist never told me not to drink it, green tea should be fine, just make sure u rinse out ur mouth really well afterwards. it's probably best to ask ur dentist just to be sure.
