Has anyone had all 4 wisdom teeth out at once? Was it with IV anesthesia?!

Question:

Has anyone had all 4 wisdom teeth out at once? Was it with IV anesthesia?

I have to get all four out. One is out and three are impacted. How bad is it, what is the anesthesia like? Whats the recovery?

Answers:

I just had mines removed by Iv anesthesia yesterday.I was sooo nervous before I did it. But it seemed so easy. First they gave me laughing gas and that relaxed me big time. Then they put something in my arm and then put the anesthesia in. I was out within seconds of them injecting it. I don't remember going to sleep. Then I heard them call me to wake up and somehow, I don't remember, I was in another room and my husband was there. You'll be falling in and out of sleep. I was crying afterward and I couldn't control it. The nurse said it was normal cause the laughing gas can make you emotional. Then I just kept falling in and out of sleep. In my head, I thought I was talking coherently, but my husband said I was mumbling.
Afterwards, you'll feel fine...until the numbing wears off. I was in biggg pain then. BIG ADVICE: get the medicine asap. I thought I was fine and thought the med could wait about 1/2 hour. Big mistake. First I felt a little pain. Then it hit hard. I was literally bent over and moaning in pain and crying. I would suggest you get the meds asap and ask if you can take it before the numbing wears off.
The meds are heaven. I can barely feel a thing now! You'll have like "missing" parts of what happened from after you wake up. But I"m so glad I did it. I felt pretty much back to normal on today (day 2). The only thing is I had 1 impacted. That one is still sore and swollen cuz they had to cut my gums. But not as bad as I though. MY husband got them taken out awake w/the injeciton. He was in agony. He kept saying how he should have done it my way. Just keep taking the med as directed. I'm still afraid to chew meat or anything hard so I've been eating soup, porriage, yogurt, ice cream. Eggs on day 2. Good luck! =)
