Advice Needed ... My dentist thinks I need to see a Neurologist !!?!

Question:

Advice Needed ... My dentist thinks I need to see a Neurologist !!?

I had a root canal treatment on a front tooth 2 weeks ago but I still feel pain in the tooth and there is some inflamation around the tooth. My dentist showed me the X-ray he took after the treatment and no nerve or decay is visable in the tooth and the teeth adjacent also look OK. He said that I will need to see a Neurlogist and will probably have to take some prescribed drugs to get rid of my pain....has anyone else had this problem, can anyone else offer advice on getting rid of the pain.
I really look forward to hearing from anyone out there with similar experiences....I am in the UK.

Thanks in advance

Andy

Answers:

My dental surgeon recommended me to go to a neurologist for pain and muscle spasms in my face after having my impacted wisdom teeth removed. Going to the neurologist was a complete waste of time and money. They didn't even know what was wrong or what to do, they prescribed me medicine that didn't help at all but was harmful (reading up on it, I realized how bad the medicine was) For me it just took time, about 1 year for things to go back to normal without drugs. You might have better luck in the UK with doctors, so far my experience with docs here in the US, most of them don't know what they're doing...Good Luck.
