What is that white hard stuff on tooth near the gum line???!
Question:
What is that white hard stuff on tooth near the gum line???
Hi all on 2 teeth right by the gum line there is this hard white thicker coating i can't scale it off either.
It doesn't look like tartar as i thought tarter (calcius sp?) was yellow.
It doesn't look like the white patches you get from fluoride.
Any idea??? and what i can do to get rid of it.
I meant to ask my dentist when i went for cleaning 2 weeks ago.
Answers:
SWEETNESS,
AS TARTAR (AKA, CALCULUS) AGES IT WILL CHANGE COLORS. IT STARTS BEING WHITE, OFF-WHITE, YELLOW, BROWN, AND FINALLY BLACK.
YOU HAVE TO GO BACK AND HAVE THE DENTIST REMOVE IT. ALSO ASK HIM/HER ABOUT BRUSHING TECHNIQUE TO MAKE SURE ALL THE TOOTH SURFACES TO THE GUM LINE ARE PROPERLY GETTING BRUSHED TO AVOID THE SOFT PLAQUE FRO TURNING INTO TARTAR.
