Question:

I just got braces, and my two front teeth have shorter roots than my others... anyone experiencing the same...

...situation? If so, will my teeth be okay? How big is the risk that they'll become loose or fall out completely?

My daughter had this issue in one of her two front teeth when she got her braces on. The orthodontist monitored it for six months to see if it was getting any worse. It wasn't so he went ahead and put the braces on. They've been off for a couple of years and the teeth are fine--the root no different from when it went on. I was told the root was shorter probably because of trauma to the tooth. The only trauma she had sustained to her front teeth occurred when she was very young--in baby teeth. I figure she must have damaged that part of her jaw compromising the blood supply to that tooth, but not so much as to completely deprive it--just stunt it's root growth a bit. Her teeth are gorgeous.
