How can I convince my parents to get me braces now?

I asked them and they're like, "It's not that bad. When you're older, you can have it." my parents are VERY strange. at my last checkup at the doctor, the doc said i should get braces when I'm 18. my parents actually listened to doc(what does the doctor know? she's not a freakn dentist!!!). I really need it right now because I have a very bad underbite and my top row of teeth are really crooked. everyone asks me why I don't have braces yet. my friend got braces just because she wants it (she's got perfect teeth)and I need it, but I gotta wait! I'm 13 and I can't wait for 5 years! >:o (highschool will probrobly be my WORST years ever....)

my parents can so afford it. they probrobly spend like $2,000 on medicine from Costco a month. now how weird are they...?
