Hello, You say that your tooth enamel is in a slow but constant state of on going erosion. That Leeds me to believe that something other than a poor diet is going on. There are three possible issues that could contribute to such a situation. (1)..Excessive use of "recreational drugs". I have had a number of parents bring a child to my office concerned about their eroding teeth and when I mentioned drug use they either got involved in finding out if in deed it was true, or they flatly rejected the idea. Unfortunately some of those who rejected the idea found out later that their child was involved in drugs. (2) If you have a chronic health issue, such as Diabetes, your teeth can be severely affected by it. (3) If you have a health issue that requires you to take regular medications, some medications can be damaging to teeth. (4) If you have a habit of eating a lot of products with high sugar content, that can erode tooth enamel and (5) If you have a habit of sucking of sliced lemons, they contain the strongest food acid you can possibly put in your mouth. Constant exposure to lemon juice can erode your tooth enamel.. Lastly, does members of your family have or had the same tooth enamel eroding problem. Some families have a DNA, gene issue that makes family members prone to various tooth problems. I hope this information provides with some insight that might apply to your situation. Good luck and I wish you well.

POP POP POP my dentist could tell immediately the first time I went in to see him as new patient 8 years ago that i drank alot of pop told me the same thing..i have since cut WAY back on pop and if Ido have an occasional glass of it, I either drink water immediately after or brush my teeth right away. If i remember right, he also gave me a special toothpaste to use..dont remember the name of it though. Pop is really really really bad for your teeth...not sure about what type of foods to avoid(I eat very healthy so we didnt get into foods to avoid) but hopefully someone else here will know. Good Luck!
