Inhale a tooth?!
Question: They said my son which is 7 years old, that the 2 bottom teeth are loose and that they can come out anytime. I told them I'm scared that he will swallow them, they said swallowing them is okay but inhaling them is not, how the heck can you inhale a tooth?

Have you ever been drinking water or some other beverage and suddenly take a breath and attempt to swallow at the same time? I don't know anyone who hasn't had the experience. In your child's case it's very unlikely he would swallow a tooth. If it came out at the same moment he was taking a deep breath there could be some risk he would draw it into his Bronchial tube, if that happened then indeed you have a serious issue. While in most cases it could be retrieved with an instrument capable of grasping a hold of it, however if it couldn't be retrieved that way surgery would be the other option....Now, I think the chance of him swallowing a tooth is about the same as him getting run over by a train. As for swallowing one and it goes into the stomach, it will emerge at the other end in a day or so. Stay calm and cool your son will be fine.
Well, it is possible. I have done xrays on people with teeth in their lungs. The ones I have seen, though, had some kind of trauma. I guess if they fall out in his mouth he can do it. Kinda like when you take a sip of your drink and it can go down the wrong way or if it falls out and he sucks in a breath real quick he can inhale it.
if you breath through your mouth really hard, or if you yawn and it gets sucked in? I have personally never heard of that, i have swallowed a tooth though through biting into an apple and chewing and swallowing it and im fine lol so theres not much to worry about!
