Can I sue my oral surgeon?!

Question: Okay so I had 3 impacted wisdom teeth surgically removed on February 20th and ended up with nerve damage. The right side of my chin, gums, and lip are still numb. I know this can take a long time to go away and may never go away completely. All the dental text will tell you it feels numb or tingling. Well, that is bull! It hurts, it feels like someone is shocking your face, sometimes it sends a shooting pain. I have read a ton of blogs and everyone else says it hurts too. But dentists and the like make it out to be not so bad. I also bite my lip all the time and I can't chew over there. It is definately affecting my life. Well I read about the risks before I had them pulled and one thing said that they may leave your roots in. I asked about this beforehand and they said if the tooth gave them too much trouble they may leave the roots to avoid damage to my mouth.

Well when I went in for a follow up I had really bad dry socket on that same side and I said, wow that tooth must have

You cant sign away your rights anyway. You need to find a lawyer that deals with medical claims. Document everything that you can before you go so you dont have to repeat yourself a million times to the lawyer and then all you have to do is wait and go to trial. You should have a good case.

you might have grounds to sue the oral surgeon, did he make you sign a waiver before the surgery?

It would be hard to sue but you can try. ask to have a copy of ur x rays and records to show. but dont tell them what its for just say you would like to have them for ur own records. but make sure that they dont have the papers you signed or u can get in trouble
