Do teeth hurt/feel sensitive after anesthesia(during the treatment)?!


Question:

Do teeth hurt/feel sensitive after anesthesia(during the treatment)?

i have had a cavity extracted without anesthesia, and it pained and my teeth felt very sensitive. Now my dentist says that she will use the injection anesthesia, and then I would not be aware of what she does. Is this true? or am i prone to have pain even after anesthesia?
