Since I work for a dentist maybe I can answer. Lack of education about your teeth is a big reason people have so many different views on dentistry. Yes, it is expensive to go, but all the supplies dentist use are very expensive. Like any other profession, you'll have good dentist and bad dentist and it is very hard for the general public to know the difference, Just because he or she is nice, doesn't mean they are good. I live in a small town where people are influenced by their insurance, insurance companies don't know who is good and who is not, they do know who will be in their network, but that doesn't have anything to do with the quality of dentistry a person will receive. Please do remember you only get 1 set of permanent teeth and nothing is as good as them, so take care of them and keep them as long as possible. Even people with false teeth have to see a dentist yearly for oral cancer checks and to keep the fit tight. So remember you'll always need to see a dentist to keep healthy, weather it be with your natural teeth of false teeth.
