I had my wisdom teeth removed a little over a week ago and...?!

Question: One of the clots fellout ,the clot which fell out is on one of my upper wisdom teeth, and it fell out while I was rinsing my mouth out with hydrogen peroxide (1:1 ratio with water). Afterwards it was bleeding very slightly and it did stop less than 5 minutes later.

I was told dry sockets on the top of your mouth are far less likely, but Im still worried about it, and what should I do in the mean time to help it?

Does it hurt a lot? Have you inspected it with a dental mirror?

If it really hurts and smells funny you should get over to your dentist. They can rinse it out and then pack it with gauze for you while giving you something for the pain. You might need to do that a few times a week.

I personally was reckless when I had my wisdoms removed and packed them myself with gauze. I would recommend have the dentist do it, but if you have to wait overnight to see the dentist, you might want to do that just so that no food particles or anything get in there. Rinse beforehand, of course.

I'm sure you've heard all these things before, but avoid suckage... so no drinking straws, no carbonated beverages, no smoking etc. Don't think you did anything wrong though... cus apparently dry sockets happen to a lot of people who have followed every rule.

Of course, impeccable dental hygiene is key until you can get to see your dentist.

Hope you feel better soon!
