Should my daughter's 4 2nd molar be removed so the 3rd molar can have space to !

Question:

Should my daughter's 4 2nd molar be removed so the 3rd molar can have space to grow?

X-ray showed that my daughter's wisdom teeth will be growing toward her 2nd molar. Dentist's advise is to have the 2nd molars removed so as to have space for the 3rd molar to grow. She said the third molar can take the place of the 2nd molar since they have more or less the same size. My daughter is still 12 years old and she's not ready for tooth extraction yet. Is it the right thing to do?

To all answerers:

We do not know if the second molars are healthy and caries free. They might be bombed out with decay. This was not disclosed in the question

We do not know if there is crowding in the arches and if this is recommended as part of an overall treatment plan that takes orthodontics into consideration.

There are too many unknown variables to really answer this question.
