What can I do about my TMJ?!

Question: I think I have TMJ, but it's not from grinding my teeth so I'm not sure if wearing a mouth piece to sleep would help. What else can I do?

And I know "go to a dentist" is the obvious answer, so I am clearly looking for more specific answers. Thanks.

there are more than one reason for getting TMJ disorders which are sometimes manifested by clicking sound and pain near the ear

One of them is malaligned teeth, becuase when you have malaligned teeth your jaw keeps closing in a wrong position that strains the TMJ, that can bee fixed with orthodontic treatments.

another is grinding your teeth, if you wake up feeling any pain or muscle strain near your cheek and ear then you are propably grinding your teeth during sleep.

To be sure of the problem and get the right treatment for it you must see your dentist, he will examine you and ask you some questions which determines the cause of the prblem to better solve it.

Do NOT CHEW GUM!!!! Very bad with TMJ and I would try the mouth guard cause you may be grinding your teeth and not realize it..

Never, ever chew gum.
AND PLEASE CONSIDER PUT ME AS BEST ANSWER IM SORT OF DESPERATE LOL XD
