How bad do your teeth have to be to get braces?!

Question: I think i have to get braces. Im going to the dentist in a month or so. Does it hurt getting them in? I think my bottom teeth are a little crooked and I have buck teeth.

instead of asking ur dentist going 2 the orthodontics would b a better idea. my dentist said tat my teeth were perfect. then one day my mom took me 2 the orthodontics and he said tat my teeth were all messed up. i would go 2 the orthodontics instead.

it doesnt really hurt when u get ur braces on. its just hurts afterwards and when they tighten them. they just put glue on ur teeth then they put the brackets on. the metal spacers r the worst part. getting braces on dont hurt. its just a little bit uncomfortable.

if ur teeth r a little bit crocked then u will probably only hav 2 hav braces 4 a year. fixing a crooked mouth is faster then fixing an overbite or an underbite. good luck!!!!

but in the end u will hav perfect teeth!!!!!!!

Your dentist will inform you if you need braces. Braces only hurt for a bit and then it is like you dont have them anymore.

the dentist will tell you if you need to get braces. it doesnt hurt too bad when youre putting them in but its pretty uncomfortable, and they ache alot oh and it hurts to eat aswell.

A friend of mine had nearly perfect teeth, she had slightly crowded lower teeth and she got braces so your teeth really don't have to be that bad to get braces.

Braces are somewhat painful however, the new types of braces are not as bad as they used to be when they are initially put on.

The old style were bands that were fitted around each tooth and were basically installed with a little hammer to wiggle them onto each tooth. It certainly wasn't a good dental experience for me. The newer styles are bonded to the front of your teeth and seem to be a lot less painful to install.

You will experience some soreness after they are tightened and/or adjusted each time.

It's well worth it, for the enhancement of your smile! :)

Good luck!

Your dentist will refer you to an orthodontist if necessary. If you are getting metal braces, your insurance will cover them, unlike clear braces, which are considered cosmetic.

It doesn't feel that bad when you first get them put on, but you will experience some difficulty with chewing and a bit of pain. Just take your normal pain-reliever and you should be fine.

It depends on you really, a dentist will put braces on you for one tooth thats out of line if you let him.

I have never had braces but i know several people who have and they say that they are really sore after getting them put on but thats all normal.

I think you will be fine to get braces now. My teeth weren't that bad when I got braces and it is better to go ahead and get them on then wait for awhile and then get them on and your teeth are worse. If you wait then you could have to wear them for longer.

Your dentist will tell you if you need braces or not. They feel a little weird when you first get them on, but you get used to it. It hurts a little when you eat, but you can always take a pain reliever. It hurts a little to get them tightened but its worth it. Good Luck!
