You probably can't make them yourself, but there are alternatives to straighten teeth. One is called a "red, white, and blue" system. It is a system that can help you move your teeth, but does not require braces. Your dentist would have more information.

Typically, braces run between $4000 - $5000. Most orthodontists will insist on putting them on your upper teeth as well as your lower teeth. The amount your insurance will cover varies on your plan. If you are an adult, you are very lucky if your insurance company covers adult orthodontia. However, for teens and children, orthodontia is usually covered, but typically with a $1,500 lifetime maximum.

Hope this helps!

um unforutanley no and insuracne covers braces for free unless u break them or have to get them again (which is very rare unless u do somtehing stupid)

hope thsi hleped

no you can't use anything else, otherwise, braces wouldn't exist.

it depends on what insurance policy you get. mine only covered $2,000.

every month when i would go for my tightening, i would pay about $200 so I didn't have to pay for them all at once.

there was a deposit though in the beginning

Even if you could make them yourself you won't want to.

Straightening teeth isn't just about making them look pretty. When you move the teeth you change how your upper and lower jaw close together. Those changes done improperly could lead to serious TMJ issues and a myriad of other problems. It's not something you want to try at home.

Cost is determined by how long you will need to wear braces to achieve the desired result. They are a time consuming treatment that require frequent adjustments and visits to the dentist. Cost can range from $2000 - $8,000 or more. It's very case dependent. Most orthodontists offer a payment plan systems and insurance coverage will vary by your age and the type of dental plan you have.

Start with a consult with an orthodontist. Many offer free consultations. It will at least give you an idea of what treatment you need.

Good luck.
